Mother Mary of Paris
watercolor, gouache, oil
Feast Day: July 20
Mother Mary of Paris was imprisoned in Ravensbrück concentration camp during the Nazi occupation of Paris for protecting the Jews of France. She and others working in her home would provide baptismal certificates to Jews seeking protection. On Holy Saturday, 1945, she was murdered in a gas chamber for her faith—laying down her life for the sake of others. Her feast day is July 20th.
Mother Mary of Paris has offered that we could consider ourselves on a “path of God-motherhood."
